Our Design Process

From the initial design to the construction of your remodel we have you taken care of. We design your home in 3D and use these files to create architectural renderings of your home remodel. We then use these files to create the construction drawings needed by the city to approve your project. These construction drawings are then used by us and our tradesman to construct your project. Using a 3D model for every aspect of the design of your remodel prevents costly mistakes.
Thoughtful Design

We believe in doing things right the first time. Which is why we believe in designing every project in 3D CAD software. By designing in 3D we can see conflicts while they are still in the design phase, which prevents costly and time consuming mistakes. We also keep up on the latest products to keep you informed on your choices. There are many things to consider when remodeling and we will consult with you to make sure the design works for you.
Photo-Realistic Rendering

By using advanced architectural rendering we are able to produce high quality images of how your remodel will look. We can take different design ideas and render them for you to compare. You can then be confident with your decision before construction starts. We use these renderings to convey how your home should look to our vendors and tradesman. This technology saves you money and ensures that your home looks just like you visualized that it would.
Construction Drawings

During the design phase of your remodel we are able to send you dimensioned drawings to help with decisions you may need to make. Once you are comfortable with the design we use the CAD files that were used to design your remodel for documentation. Which puts us one step ahead when it comes to creating construction documents. Using 3D CAD software also has ensured that our floor plans and elevation plans will be accurate.
Simplified Construction

Now that we have the photo-realistic renderings and the proper construction drawings we are ready to construct your remodel. Having renderings of how your project should look and dimensioned drawings makes transferring this information to our vendors and tradesman a snap. American Craftsman is a licensed and insured Park City Area General Contractor - Construction Company specializing in remodels and complete home renovations in Park City, Utah and the surrounding areas. Since we specialize in home remodels we have a better understanding of what is involved in a remodel than many other Park City General Contractors - Custom Home Builders.

Remodels have a unique set of challenges not seen by most custom home builders in new home construction. For example dealing with the existing structures layout and mechanical design. Although anything can be changed working with what already exists allows us to save you money on your overall home renovation. We use the latest products and techniques to ensure that you can enjoy your home even while it is under construction. These techniques also give you instant access to the parts of your home that are being remodeled. While completely sealing it off from the areas of you home that are not included in the remodel. We also believe that you will get a better job if your home is kept clean while it is being remodeled. From our experience tradesman do a better job if the walk into a clean job site and are more likely to leave it that way.
